Apologises for the awful title, my mind has drawn a blank and the only thing I can think of when I look at my nails is CAKES so it'll have to do.
Rimmel Lemon Drop, 17 Pink Lemonade
The nail art brushes that I bought off eBay really came in handy for this look (you can buy them here), I just covered my whole nail in three coats of the pastel yellow colour, then drew a cross with a nail art brush and coloured it in.
As for the "fruity scent" of the Rimmel polish, it's a bit of a faff - my nails smelt faintly of lemon scented washing up liquid for five minutes after my nails had dried, and there was no trace of the scent after I washed my hands.
This was my first time using the pink colour, and it was a lot sheerer than I expected, it took a good few coats to get it opaque. I'm in love with the colour though, it's a lot more orange-toned than any of my other pinks and is just lovely in general.
I didn't fully wait for the look to dry before adding a top coat to make the edges softer and blend everything together nicely - I thought the design looked a bit too harsh otherwise.

I also did another variation of these, and I ended up not liking them and deciding they weren't worthy of a post of their own, but I thought I might chuck 'em into this post in case anyone's looking for some nail inspiration.
Oh my gosh! I love cake so this is right up my street haha! :) Lovely!
