april favourites

It's been a month since I've started my blog, and I've got a few things I'm loving to share with you!

Face Products:
Maybelline Pure Mineral Foundation - I use this to set my makeup and stop me looking oily, and since it's a foundation in itself sometimes I'll just get away with this and some concealer under it. The only fault I can find is that it's a loose powder which I hate (particularly in eyeshadow) because they go everywhere, however since foundation is meant to go all over your face it kinda works out in it's favour. I'm in the shade Vanilla Rose 04.

L'Oreal Matte Morphose Souffle Foundation - This is a mousse texture, and I love this as it takes seconds to apply, all you need to do is scoop out a tiny amount, distribute equally over your face in small dots then rub it in. The shade is slightly too dark for me (Beige Natural 140), but it blends in seamlessly while mattifying your face and smoothing out your complexion. This might cling to dry patches though, and you might be able to see that a corner has smashed, that was when I dropped it - so not a good travel product!

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer - Full review/comparison to another shade here. In a nutshell, it gives good coverage, blends in well and lasts a long time. What more could you want?

Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in Summer Fever - This gives a lovely, natural glow with just the right amount of pigmentation. Complete review here.

Eye and Lip Products:
L'Oreal Glam Shine Lipgloss in Oriental Fuchsia - This really does last a long time. Not six hours as L'Oreal boast, but maybe three or four hours which for a lipgloss is pretty good. I love the colour, it's a nice muted red which, when applied in the morning makes me look fresh and awake.

Urban Decay Lipstick in Trainwreck - First of all, how adorable is the packaging? You pull out a sword out of the case (King Arthur-esque) to get to the lipstick, and there's another little sword embossed on the bullet. Trainwreck is a plum shade, and smells like prunes - dried plums, not sure how I feel about that as it's a bit too sickly sweet. I like to dab this onto my lips to tone the colour down a bit.

L'Oreal Super Liner in Silver Black - This is my favourite eyeliner. Ever. It's easier to apply than pencil, gel or liquid liner that has a brush, as it has a foam tip which makes it a breeze to slick on. I have this in two shade, the other one being plain black, however either I've finished it or it's dried up as it's unusable. I received this in a set ages ago that Boots were giving away if you spend a certain amount of money on L'Oreal, and fell in love. If you can't do liquid liner, get this now.

Coca Cola Lip Smacker - These are being sold at the tills in Primark, which is very sneaky as when I'm out shopping I'm all flustered and thinking about giving the cashier the amount of money, what I'm going to get for lunch, how hot it is in shops, and not to drop the bags I'm already carrying, and I seem to forget that I already have too many lip balms that need using up and pop this into my basket. That being said, I love this (obviously, as it's in my favourites) because it smells and tastes like Coca Cola. WIN.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Colossal Cat Eyes - I used this in an Eye Of The Day here, and it's starting to dry up now. It has a curved wand which makes it super easy to get all of my eyelashes covered in a few sweeps, and that's about it. I got a free bag when I bought it on introductory offer, but of course that offer is long gone now. Nice little extra though.

Others:
Divergent by Veronica Roth - I read half of this on a really long train journey, and I'm hooked. I almost don't want to keep reading it because as soon as I'm finished I'll want to read the sequel, which I think is released today! Will have to order it...

This little perfume sample by Thierry Mugler, called Womanity is so so so cool! You slide up the top bit, press on the woman's head and the perfume squirts out! I'm not in love with the actual scent, it smells slightly...salty? It dries down to a spicy scent, which is quite nice, and it lasts a long, long time. I sprayed it in the afternoon and I could still faintly smell it when I was going to sleep at around midnight! You can still get the free sample if you like the Facebook page here. Unfortunately I think it's UK only, though.

Songs:
Anything by Calvin Harris, particularly Acceptable In The 80's, Bounce and Feel So Close.
Also, the new Linkin Park single, Burn It Down, So Good by B.o.B, Last Time by Labrinth, She Doesn't Mind by Sean Paul, Blackout by Breathe Carolina and Greyhound by Swedish House Mafia.

I just photographed my iPod for show, it actually hasn't been working for two weeks after my water bottle leaked into my handbag, and the headphones won't go in the headphone jack. Does anyone know how to fix things like that? I've put it in a bowl of rice as I heard that works, but so far, nothing's happening. Sadness :(

YouTube - I find myself watching more and more of this guy who's username is MrNeeNaw, he's in the realm of charlieissocoollike and nerimon, and little entertaining videos like the one below make my day :)

So that is it! Wow that was a lot of typing.
