I've spoken about Betrousse once or twice in the past, and was impressed with the concept of the brand; basically, they offer one-off beauty boxes much in the same way that Latest In Beauty do, but with mostly French brands and for a fraction of the price of what the products inside would cost if you bought them all separately.
This particular kit comes with four full-sized products, including a body lotion, lipgloss, shampoo and cleanser - the last of which I'm a little hesitant to try out, as the moisturiser I tried from the same brand didn't do my skin any favours. Perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised with the Benta Berry G1 Exfoliating Facial Cleanser - in any case, I'll be sure to inform you when it ends up in an empties post!
As far as I'm concerned, the star of the show here is the JASON Normalising Shampoo - it doesn't contain SLS (or parabens!), which is brilliant as I try to avoid the ingredient in my body wash and shampoo, but SLS free products are hard to come by and I always stick with the Naked brand as they're the cheapest. The shampoo cleanses my hair just as thoroughly as my favourite Naked one, and smells lovely to boot. And while we're on the subject of scents, I was expecting the Fair Naturally Mango & Safflower Body Moisturiser to smell as divine as its name would suggest, but I was a little let down when my nostrils weren't bombarded with full-on mango fruitiness. The body lotion still has a nice, inoffensive scent and it does its job well, which is the main thing.
I'm not usually drawn to lipglosses, and instead favour pigmented lipsticks but there's something about the shimmery pink girly-ness of the Make Believe Shimmer Lipgloss that makes me want to hold on to it rather than pass it on to a friend. I'm thinking it would look good in the summer, with a tan and minimal makeup, non?
