little london haul

I've just come back after a few days away (guess where, the clue totally isn't in the title), and er... a bit o' shopping happened.
I just had to see what was in the Zara sale and oh my, was I not let down. I easily could've bought half the shop but restrained myself and only got one item; a grey scarf with tiger faces and distressed edges. It doesn't look like anything special when it's all scrunched up like in the photo, but when worn it hangs so beautifully and the colour will be perfect for autumn. The only other clothing item I picked up was a white tshirt with neon pink and yellow specks from Forever 21. Trust me, I went into the changing rooms there armed with the maximum amount of items allowed but nothing seemed to suit me apart from the tshirt as it's a) not entirely see-through and b) not unflattering and clingy around the belly area which is pretty rare for such a light coloured top. The scarf was £8 and the tshirt was around £12.
The Muji pen pot was an impulse purchase as I needed another pot to house my makeup brushes (they've been living in another pen pot with my cotton buds for too long), and at around £2 I wasn't going to say no, was I? You can see how I organise my makeup here, although I'm no longer using the Sigma brush set so just replace that in your mind with the RT brushes.
You may have noticed the Selfridges bag, yes? I did go into Selfridges - purely for the air conditioning, it was far too hawt outside - but then I stopped by the Origins counter, drawn in by the free samples (I got the GinZing Eye Cream) and ended up walking away with a mini of the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. I'd wanted to try this mask ever since I'd heard how amazing it was for dry patches, but the price had always put me off. The mini was a much more affordable £11, and seeing as I'd never even knew that Origins did these baby versions of their products, I caved and bought it. Right after I remembered the huge amount of face masks sitting at home. No matter, I'll get through them all... eventually.
I stumbled across a pharmacy that sold Bioderma products (it was on Baker Street, I think it was called NVS Pharmacy or something like that), so I eagerly popped in to stock up on the famous micellaire water. I got the mini size (£4.50) as I was only taking hand luggage on the flight back home, and I'm also trying out the red Sensibio version for the first time. Hopefully it'll be just as good as the green Sebium one I usually get; the lovely cashier popped in a sample of a sunscreen too.
Technically this isn't part of the London haul, but I thought I'd share what was waiting for me in the mail when I came back home - the Latest In Beauty Ultimate Summer Nails box. It's seriously the best box Latest In Beauty have done, and it's no wonder that it sold out so quickly as it was only £15 for ALL OF THIS NAIL-RELATED GOODNESS.

Ahem. *composes self*

I'm not going to go on about exactly how perfect every single detail about this set is as, well, it's out of stock and it really isn't fair on you. So I'll just list the contents instead. Don't say I'm not kind.
In the box are two 4ml mini Nails Inc nail polishes in Notting Hill Gate and the Kensington Caviar Top Coat, The Vintage Cosmetic Company emery board, Essie Sleek Stick nail stickers in 03 So Haute!, a full size 11ml Butter London (I know, I know, that thing is basically worth the price of the whole box) nail polish in Yummy Mummy, the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover, a 30ml L'Occitane hand cream and a Rituals Nail Varnish Corrector Pen.

I'm still not sure if I like doing haul posts or not, do you enjoy them?

  1. Woo Muji is the best, I had to grab some of their teeny cotton buds and plastic palettes whilst in Carnaby street last week! Love the look of that Zara tee.
